Commonly Asked Questions

Am I required to add attorney support?

Not at all! Attorney Support is not required to purchase. It’s an optional service that you’re welcome to take advantage of if you want additional, one-on-one legal advice. If you’re looking for further assurance on your plan or you have a more complex estate plan and want personalized advice, Attorney Support should be considered.

What does an estate planning attorney do?

Estate Planning Attorneys are licensed and experienced legal professionals who have a clear understanding of the specific state and federal laws that may be important to know when writing your Estate Plan. Estate Planning Attorneys can offer guidance on how your estate will be valued, inventoried, taxed, and distributed once you pass away.

Who needs Attorney Support?

Our Attorney Support can benefit anyone seeking specific estate planning assistance, regardless if you are a business owner with a complicated estate plan, or creating a simple Will for yourself. The option to talk one-on-one with an experienced attorney may give you added peace of mind during this process. However, our Attorney Support service is not required for any person who creates a Will-Based Estate Plan with FastWill.

Can my estate be settled after I pass away without an attorney?

If you have a basic, fairly simple estate, your appointed Executor and/or Trustee should generally be able to settle it on their own, without hiring an Estate Planning or Probate Lawyer. If your estate is complicated or large, an Estate Planning Attorney can help your loved ones navigate the process.
